An active historic facility undergoing major modernization had no reliable as-built documentation. Irregular masonry walls, non-standard structural arches, and congested ceiling mechanical systems required millimeter-level capture without disrupting facility operations.

Our Technical Engineering Approach
We imported unified point cloud files into Autodesk ReCap and Revit, slicing section views along critical structural gridlines. Drafters modeled authentic historical elements (vaulted ceilings, stone walls, steel trusses) directly along the dense point cloud surface, ensuring high fidelity within a +/- 6mm tolerance.
Filtering noise, setting origin coordinates, and organizing point cloud worksets in ReCap.
Modeling structural framing, architectural envelope, and exposed MEP piping from point cloud slices.
Running surface-to-point cloud deviation heatmaps to verify geometric tolerances.
Populating Revit families with asset codes, OmniClass tags, and maintenance fields.
Exporting lightweight IFC and Revit digital twin packages for facility managers.
